Knotwood's finish is sublimated into the powder coat, so the grain has depth and texture rather than sitting on the surface as a print. From a few feet away it reads as timber; up close it still does.
The profiles are aluminum, so a Knotwood pergola does not split, twist, rust or attract termites, and the finish is warrantied by the manufacturer against fading. It suits the Newport and Irvine homes where a plain aluminum cover would look too light and a real wood one would need restaining every other spring.

No. It is aluminum with a wood-grain finish applied by sublimation, so the grain is in the coating rather than printed on it. It looks and feels like timber and never needs sealing, which a mile from the ocean is the whole point.

Yes. Irvine, Yorba Linda, the newer tracts in Buena Park and most of the planned communities south of the 405 have an architectural committee, and each one wants roughly the same packet: a site plan, the color, and the manufacturer's spec sheet. We prepare it, submit it, and answer the committee's questions. It is the one part of the schedule we do not control, so we start it first.
