A cover here has to suit the house, so we build a lot of lattice in white and dark brown, and a lot of half-round copper gutters on the streets where the architecture asks for it.
The coast is damp: the marine layer sits on the patio most mornings and the salt air is a mile inland. Aluminum with a baked-on finish is the material that does not care.
